ECO FRIENDS
As a teacher of year 2, 4 or 6 in Eskilstuna municipality, you can book your class on an Eco Friend visit.
What does the environment have to do with me? How do my choices here at home relate to the endangered animals on the other side of the world? This is what pupils in years 2, 4 and 6 of Eskilstuna municipality learn when they spend time with Eco Friends.
Today, we are facing one of humanity's greatest common challenges, the environment and climate change. Some of the biggest environmental problems are mainly due to the over-consumption and behaviour of rich countries, which is largely based on our values and also on ignorance. How much do we really know about the resources we use every day?
Teaching is based on learning for sustainable development and aims to inspire pupils to be active, involved and aware members of society, to develop pupils' abilities to take responsibility for their own behaviour and to reinforce the values that go hand in hand with sustainable living.
