What personal data do we collect about you and why?

We may collect different types of personal data, for example, when you visit our websites, sign up for our newsletter, participate in competitions, book accommodation, make purchases in our webshop or contact us on various matters.

Examples of personal data can product:

The purposes for which we collect personal data and the legal basis for doing so are set out below.

Guest services:

We collect personal data from you when you contact us, for example by email, phone or through digital channels, including social media. In the first instance, we will collect the personal data needed to answer your question or handle your case.

Legal basis: Balancing of interests
Processing is carried out on the basis of our/your interest in handling and resolving the case.

Purchase of tickets, season tickets, accommodation etc.

When you make purchases in our webshop, buy season tickets on site, book accommodation or book any of our other services, such as guided tours, we collect personal data from you in order to be able to fulfil your order, e.g. to be able to handle cancellations and rebookings, send out booking confirmations and communicate about the booking.

When booking accommodation, a person may provide personal data about one or more other persons in a travelling party. We assume that the person providing the information has the consent of all travellers to provide this personal data. If the booking includes children, we collect information on the age of the child based on price categories.

The processing is based on the fulfilment of our obligations under the sales contract.

Marketing and promotion

We process your personal data to send out e.g. newsletters and offers.

Processing is based on our legitimate interest in being able to send you direct marketing about what we have to offer. The processing is based on our and our guests' interest in evaluating and developing our website, web shop and social media posts.

Guest surveys

We collect data via targeted guest/customer surveys. We do this in order to evaluate, develop and improve our services, products and systems.

Participating in the guest survey is completely optional, if you do not wish to participate, please refrain from replying to the email we send out.

Processors of personal data -  Who may we share your personal data with?

Parken Zoo does not disclose your personal data to third parties unless there are special reasons or if there are suppliers who handle information on behalf of Parken Zoo - so-called third-party suppliers.

With all our third-party suppliers, there are written data processing agreements that ensure that personal data is only processed by Parken Zoo and the supplier. Special reasons may be suspicion of a criminal offence. In this case, the police, prosecutor or similar authority may request information that Parken Zoo is legally obliged to provide.
We have data processors who help us with:

• IT services (companies that manage the operation, technical support and maintenance of our IT solutions)
• Marketing (print and distribution, social media, advertising and media agencies)
• Guest surveys
• Booking system/customer register
• Cash register system/customer register

Companies that are independent data controllers.

The zoo also shares your personal data with certain companies that are independent data controllers. This means that the zoo does not control how the information provided to the company is processed. Independent data controllers that we may share your personal data with are:

• Government authorities (police, tax authorities or other authorities) if we are required to do so by law or on suspicion of a criminal offence.
• Companies providing general cargo transport (logistics companies and freight forwarders).
• Companies offering payment solutions (card acquirers, banks and other payment service providers).

When your personal data is shared with a company that is an independent data controller, that company's privacy policy and data processing practices apply.

Storage

We do not keep your personal data longer than necessary for the respective purpose. The data may also be saved for the time required by applicable law, for example for 7 years to fulfil the requirements of the Accounting Act.
