Letter from Madagascar

7 April 2018

This week we received letters from AEECL, an organisation we support, which works on the ground to preserve the endangered lemurs of Madagascar. They told us that they had built a school in 2017 thanks to the donations received and that they will build another one in 2018. They also told us that their ecotourism programme continues to develop and that there is a lot of interest from the local communities to get involved. It's always great to hear positive news from our partners working on the ground in the wild. Parken Zoo is home to four different species of lemurs, two of which are critically endangered, one endangered and the fourth vulnerable. These species are included in zoos' conservation breeding programmes to avoid the risk of extinction.
