The animals in a small zoo play an important role in fostering love and understanding for animals and nature. Childhood experiences have been shown to play a significant role in our future engagement, and children who played in nature when they were young develop increased environmental awareness. More and more people are growing up in cities without any connection to or close contact with animals, which is why it is so important for children to have an experience that creates a lifelong memory.
In the little zoo, you get close to the animals – on their terms. If you're lucky, you might be able to follow a zookeeper into the rabbits or pigs and say hello! Otherwise, perhaps a goat or a sheep will choose to be petted by you.
