The female Asiatic lions Sarla, Ishara, and Chanda have a new member of their pride. The females, who had been without a male for some time, were joined in November by the male Aslan, who moved to Eskilstuna from Budapest. After Aslan became familiar with his new home, he first met Ishara for a period, then Ishara's daughter Chanda, and finally the older female Sarla. The introduction has gone very well and now all four are together.
Aslan, who turns 2 years old the day after Valentine's Day, is still young and hasn't grown a full mane yet. At the moment, he's more reminiscent of ”Stig-Helmer” with his characteristic tuft of hair on his head. It will be exciting to see if it stays.
